I was born in Nashville, Tennessee and raised in Cajun Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I returned to Nashville for high school and currently live with my mother, little sister and cat, Marco.
My passion for both writing began when I was a little girl. I loved writing poems and short stories, and wanted to become a published author.
In the summer of 2009, I got my first internship at Pride Publishing. A local newspaper company that designs and publishes five newspapers in the Middle Tennessee area. I published two articles before I left, and had accomplished my childhood goal. I was a published writer at 16 years old.
In high school, I wrote for The Royal Banner, my school newspaper. Our papers went out quarterly, and before I left I published four articles. Being a high school journalist allowed me to get practice writing about various topics. My favorite article, "Two Seniors Discuss Their 'Megachurches'," was published in my high school newspaper.
As a pursued broadcast journalism at the University of Memphis, I was an honors student and got involved in various student organizations. I, fall 2012 I worked as a reporter for our campus newspaper, The Daily Helmsman and enjoyed every minute of it.
In fall 2013, I interned with the Memphis Tiger Network broadcasting sports for the University of Memphis, and was able to get experience as a sports reporter. In spring 2014, I was an intern for WREG News Channel 3, a CBS affiliate news station in Memphis. There, I was able to shadow reporters and experience the everyday life of news reporters and anchors.
I just graduated in May and spent the summer in Johannesburg, South Africa on a mission trip with Campus Outreach, a campus ministry at the U of M.
This upcoming year I will be doing a biblical leadership and training program called Downline and preparing do to full-time college ministry.
